Hello everyone! Breeoche here. This is not going to be a long one, and as you can tell it's not a fancy one. Just a quick update in case you've been wondering where we've been!
First things first, I would like to apologise for the radio silence these past few months. I know a lot of people were excited for this site and seeing it stop running out of the blue after we promised to be back caused a lot of confusion.
If you follow my personal social media you may already be aware of what happened, but if you don't here's a quick rundown: a mental health emergency caused elusive, my girlfriend who coded this site and who I live with, to be unable to work. She has been doing really bad and I have been caring for her the best I can these past few months. The situation has also had a strong effect on my own mental and physical health: I am both mentally and physically disabled and taking care of myself, let alone another person, is a challenge in and of itself on the best of days.
Because of this, Homestuck Daily became its own point of stress as it was just another thing to keep up with. We made the decision to simply ignore it and come back when we felt up to it, which I now personally do. Things are far from ideal but I am doing a lot better! I know this is what we said last time, but I really mean it this time. But I am promising you that, in the future, I will try to make more formal hiatus announcements so nobody stays in the dark too long.
I will be trying to figure out how this whole thing works and run the site by myself for a little bit, as the more chill fan-blog I had always imagined it being before the excitement made us lose track of what it is we wanted to do here.
I am also aware of the issues with Filegarden and will try to implement a fix! I'm not great at all the website-y stuff, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.
In the meantime, here is what to do to bring the site back to how it's supposed to look (from the Filegarden bluesky):
1. Install Tampermonkey: www.tampermonkey.net
2. Visit temporary-file-garden.link/fixer.user.js
3. Click "Install"
And it'll all be good again!
My next order of business will be getting the Requiem Café article out. Who cares if it's almost a year late, I put a lot of work into the draft I currently have and I don't intend on scrapping it. I will be taking this as a learning experience though, and I probably won't try doing anything as ambitious as it anything soon ahah.
Elusive is still recovering, and I am not in the best of health myself, but I still have a strong passion for Homestuck. I hope you do too! See you soon with more posts. :D
